I work at the local Depot Museum once a month. Today I spent over three hours with my boss going through a couple hundred photos ranging from the 1940-70s. As we were looking through them to separate into categories I came across something interesting.
An old photograph taken after the 1959 tornado revealed a farm where my grandfather had worked. I recognized a truck that had been almost destroyed as one they used. I remembered the truck and farm from photos that Mom and Dad had. I took it back home and Mom even recogized a Cadillac they had owned at the time. The car, however, had withstood the terrors of the cyclone.
I laughed because so many times your family talks about their past and alot of times shows you pictures. But, you never realize how LONG ago it was until it ends up in the local museum. Your families stories always sound intriguing because it was before you were born. Then to see part of your history like that is amazing.

My parents and grandparents talked about our family and pulled out photographs. It is interesting to see pictures of a time before you were born.
