Small town musings

When big things happen in our town, such as: the cotton gin burning down, ambulance coming to someone's house, helicopter descending on landing pad at edge of town for pick up etc. there always seems to be a huge crowd to watch the events. But, of course, in our town a huge crowd is not above 500 people. LOL
I have fantasized about selling popcorn at these 'events' but then think 'this is so WRONG!'
Just had to share a bit of my town's events for the year. The only other thing more exciting was when the new water tower was build. Oh happy day that was. haha

Joanna's World

I was brought up in a Christian world. I have a younger brother, John, and we have lived all our lives in a small friendly town. We were brought up to do for ourselves which helped give us strength to become upstanding adults. Since I am the single sibling it allows me to spend alot of time with my nieces. Dad has a dry sense of humor, which because we were used to it, kept us in stitchings when others did not 'get him.' Some of this rubbed off on me to Mom's shagrin. Mom taught me my fashion style and how to be a lady even in tennis shoes, jeans and a t-shirt. I love animals and seem to attract the strays in town whether we want them or not.
In future blogs I will try to let you in a little about life in a small town. Bear with me because I don't often have time to write alot. So, when I do post it may be lengthly to make up for it.
