When big things happen in our town, such as: the cotton gin burning down, ambulance coming to someone's house, helicopter descending on landing pad at edge of town for pick up etc. there always seems to be a huge crowd to watch the events. But, of course, in our town a huge crowd is not above 500 people. LOL
I have fantasized about selling popcorn at these 'events' but then think 'this is so WRONG!'
Just had to share a bit of my town's events for the year. The only other thing more exciting was when the new water tower was build. Oh happy day that was. haha

Joanna,
I loved when you called to say they rescue company was having a drill to have a control burned. You said everyone in town gathered in their chairs to watch. LOL
Only in a small town would that be a major event.:-0
Hahahahaha. Joanna, this post absolutely cracked me up for one reason:
A few years ago when I was out of town on a choir tour, I got an e-mail from my mom that told me how our entire town had gone out to watch the utility company raise the shell of the water tower. For four hours. The entire town. The rest of the bus thought that was hysterical. I, however, died and melted into my seat. Really. This is a ghost you have been talking to. ;-)
Thats great! I live in a medium-sized town... but I loved your description.
Sounded like what my neighborhood looks like when something "big" happens, though.
= )
